Our Services
TransitCare is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of services to seniors, people with disabilities and those who have difficulty getting around.
Our fleet of vehicles provides door-to-door transport to people in local communities who are unable to get out and about.
We also offer a Social Support programme for those looking to enjoy some time away from home.
This year, TransitCare celebrates 30 years of service, assisting our clients to maintain their independence and remain connected to their local communities. We celebrated with a staff function on Saturday night and a client function today.
We are a very proud local organisation, founded in Logan City back in 1992 by a lady by the name of Ann Langley. Ann helped form a support group for people with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) with one of the main aims being to assist with transporting each other to their hospital and medical appointments. This initial service was voluntary and we received government funding in 1994, becoming incorporated as Logan and Albert North Disability Services (LANDS) and rebranding to TransitCare in 2012.
From these humble beginnings, a lot of dedication and the many people who gave selflessly of their time, TransitCare is now Australia’s largest and most experienced community transport provider, delivering over 270,000 trips per year. We now proudly service not only Logan City, but Redlands, Brisbane South, Mt Tamborine, Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Charters Towers, Ingham, and surrounding areas.
We are only one call away……. Please enjoy our 30th anniversary celebration video.
Supporting Your Independence
We understand that you prefer to live independently, surrounded by friendly faces, local shops and a familiar environment. We also know that there may be a time that you are no longer able to drive, and that relying on family and friends to get around can be difficult.
People often ask if they can travel with us even if they still have their own car and drive around their area. The answer is YES!
Even if you feel confident driving yourself locally, you can still use the services of TransitCare to travel further afield. We will support your independence and connect you to your local community.
We are here to help you stay connected to your community, ensuring that you can continue to visit your family and friends, get to your appointments and keep up with your social activities.

Community Transport
People use TransitCare services when driving a car is a chore, or no longer even possible. Some have a disability or condition that prevents them from driving. Others prefer to no longer travel on major roads or by public transport.
Other people travel with us if they need to attend one of the major hospitals for an appointment, as the cost of parking can be unaffordable and the drive there challenging.
The public face of TransitCare is undoubtedly our bright and distinctive Community Flyers. This fleet of fully customised vehicles includes cars, wheelchair accessible vehicles and buses.
This service is pre-booked, door-to-door, and sometimes shared, allowing you to travel to the bank or post office, hospital and medical appointments, the pharmacy, shopping, social and recreational outings, the gym, swimming or the library, the hairdresser, veterinary appointments, or on group outings. We take you anywhere you need to go!
We travel throughout Brisbane South, Logan and Redlands Cities, Gold Coast, Townsville, Charters Towers, Ingham, Cairns and surrounding areas.
It takes a special person to excel behind the wheel and our fabulous and friendly team will help you get to where you need to be with the peace of mind that comes from being transported by people who love what they do.
While highly competent and possessing clean driving records, our drivers are also accredited first-aiders and trained in assisting our clients and their varying degree of needs. They will assist you to the vehicle, take you to your appointment and, when your trip is complete, deliver you safely back home.
Whatever your reason for travel, if you have reached a point in your life where you need extra assistance getting out and about, why not catch a Community Flyer and leave the driving to us!
Social Support Services
It brings people together to learn and interact in a variety of activities including painting, craft, knitting and crocheting, quizzes and board games. Our clients also enjoy a variety of guest speakers and entertainers, themed morning teas and lunches, concerts and increased activity hours for fun, fitness and mind skills.
The programme helps to build and maintain skills to assist people with a disability to live in the community and for seniors who wish to mingle!
Our clients also travel from the areas of Brisbane South, Redlands, Logan and Western suburbs on day trips out and about in Brisbane and the surrounding regions. This is provided for a small client contribution for each trip with clients buying their own lunch.
Tech Savvy Classes
It’s never to late to learn new skills and we are continuing to run our Tech Savvy classes in 2022.
You will undertake a 20 hour course across two weeks at our Head Office, learning all aspects of your device. By the end of this course, you will be generally confident in the use of your device.
There is no cost to eligible clients and you will receive a snack and transport to and from your home.

NDIS Disability Support Services
We are an accredited NDIS provider and can help you get to your destination safely and efficiently. You are eligible for our services if you are under 65 years of age, have a permanent and significant disability and qualify under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
If you are just starting your NDIS journey, TransitCare can assist you through the process to help you:
- Understand how the NDIS will work for you.

- Familiarise yourself with the language used.
• Help you prepare for your planning meeting. - Provide you with a statement of previous trips (if you are an existing client).
- Explain what supports may be available to you.
Once you have been assessed as meeting the eligibility criteria, you will meet with an NDIS planner to discuss your lifelong needs and goals.
You will be able to access all reasonable and necessary disability supports as agreed in your individual plan. This means they are related to your disability and are required for you to live independently in the community and to work towards achieving your goals and aspirations, over your lifetime.
Your plan will generally be in place for 12 months. However, if your needs change, you can ask for it to be reviewed.
We are a registered provider of Assist-Travel/Transport in the NDIS. Once you receive your NDIS plan, you will also receive funding to pay for the transport included in your plan.
Please advise your planner that TransitCare is your preferred transport provider.

Partnerships
New delivery partner for Mount Tamborine Demand Responsive Transport service
Mount Tamborine customers who use the flat fare taxi are encouraged to familiarise themselves with upcoming changes to the service due to a new delivery partner.
TransitCare will run the Mount Tamborine DRT service from 3 July following a competitive tender process.
There will be no change to the fares or service areas, but customers are advised the booking phone number will change to a free call number 1300 153 636.
Service improvements will include enhanced reliability and a better match of vehicle type with customer mobility needs.
Customers with regular travel pattens will also be able to place recurrent bookings, meaning they could book once and only need to call TransitCare again if they wish to cancel a booking.
There will also be a change to the drop-off and pick-up area at Beenleigh and Helensvale stations.
“Since 2011 residents in Mount Tamborine have had a flat fare taxi option to connect to the wider public transport network, and the service now carries about 3,500 passengers a year”, said Translink Acting Deputy Director-General, Peter Milward.
“Since November 2022, eight services a day have also been trialled between Mount Tamborine and Helensvale station and will continue until June 2024.
“The Helensvale trial services have been well received by the Mount Tamborine community, with patronage growing over 40 per cent from December 2022 to March 2023.
“The Mount Tamborine services have proven popular with locals and visitors alike and I am confident that TransitCare will continue to provide a strong service for the area”, Mr Milward added.
Chief Executive Officer of TransitCare, Terry O’Toole said “We appreciate the confidence that TMR has placed with TransitCare and we look forward to delivering this service for the people on Mount Tamborine.
“We are excited and hope this service is the first step to further opportunities for the people of Mount Tamborine. Connecting people to their communities is the enduring vision of TransitCare.
“We feel privileged that TMR has committed to a long-term contract that provides certainty and stability for this service to grow. With this certainty customers can now plan their transport requirements understanding the service offering will be reliable and consistent.”
